The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated truck's class 4 design's one wall structure in the interior and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks enable seamless sanitation, improved temperature control, and a longer life. green power mobility reviews has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems, which will enable fleets to easily move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able of wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on a local highway for several hours, and found it to be simple to drive, and comfortable to drive long distances. The ride is smooth over bumps and ruts, and the EV9 does an excellent job of reducing road noise and wind on the highway. The acceleration of the vehicle is astonishingly quick, and it has adjustable regenerative brakes to enable "one-pedal driving" simply by lifting off the accelerator.
The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully charged in about three hours at home or using any commercial charger. Drivers can choose between two operating modes that include eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode focuses on the torque, cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both modes are enjoyable to drive and offer a unique experience for those who have never been in a vehicle with an electrical system before.
GreenPower offers a variety of other electric vehicles that include a multi-purpose all-electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit bus, vanpool or paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower produces around 10 EV Star buses per month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify school buses across the country, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet the demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This will make them eligible for federal transit grants.
